KEY OBJECTIVESTo: Generate, support and maintain national and local networks concerned with the promotion of BME health and community care equality issues Research and disseminate useful and specific information to the BME health sector and the statutory health and social care establishment Liaise with central government agencies, as well as the statutory and voluntary health and community care sectors to ensure that BME issues are addressed realistically Work in partnership with local and regional community organisations to develop networks and encourage BME citizen participation in decision making, e.g. to become non-executive members of PCTs and NHS trusts Highlight to government, NHS and mainstream bodies the specific health and health-care needs of BME communities
